Lexington, SC 06/28/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A new Mavis Tire and Brake store is currently under construction in the Hendrix Crossing shopping center at 839 US Hwy. 378, Lexington. Hendrix Crossing sits at the corner of Charter Oak Rd. and Hwy. 378 just a few miles northwest of the intersection of Augusta Hwy. (US Hwy 1), Gibson Rd., and West Main Street.
According to their corporate website at mavistire.com, Mavis Discount Tire is one of the largest independent multi-brand tire dealers in the United States. They have been selling name brand tires at discount prices for over 50 years. They also offer a menu of additional services including brakes, alignments, suspension, shocks, struts, oil changes, battery replacement and exhaust work.
Hendrix Crossing is anchored by a Publix grocery store. In addition to Publix, the center is home to many well-known regional and nationwide retailers like Verizon Wireless, Grand Computers, Subway, Marco’s Pizza, Ultra Tan, Bella Nails, Fuji Grill, Great Clips, and Zaxby’s. The Mavis is being built adjacent to Zaxby’s on an undeveloped outparcel.
There has been no timeline released for the completion and opening of the business. When complete, this store will join three others in our area. Those are located at 910 East Main St. in Lexington, 1609 Fairlane Dr. in West Columbia, and at 7596 Woodrow Street in Irmo.
