McDaniels Automotive Group Golf Classic and Gala Scheduled for April 22 and 23

West Columbia, SC 04/04/2020 (Paul Kirby) – The Lexington Medical Center Foundation will once again hold their McDaniels Automotive Group Golf Classic and Gala benefitting Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s McDaniels-Pucci Cancer Fund soon. The event is scheduled for Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23, 2022.

“We’re very excited to raise funds to enhance cancer care at Lexington Medical Center and for life-saving cancer screenings for those in need,” said Amy Lanier, executive director of the Lexington Medical Center Foundation. “Funds will also be used to assist all cancer patients throughout their entire journey, from day one detection to survivorship after ringing the bell.”

This year’s fun-filled weekend will kick off on Friday, April 22 with the McDaniels Golf Classic at the beautiful Fort Jackson Golf Club. When you enter a four-person team, that package includes two gala tickets as well. There’s also an amenity bag, brunch and after-play dinner provided to each player.

The gala will be Saturday, April 23 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The black-tie optional event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and continue until 10:00 p.m. It will feature both a live and silent auction, live music, and delicious food. Complimentary valet parking is provided.

“Our local hospital can make an impact on fighting this disease,” said Bill McDaniels, president, owner and founder of McDaniels Automotive Group. “We need to all get behind this cause and help fund the fight against cancer. Together, we can save lives.”

The live auction will feature exciting experiences and destination trips, an original painting by local artist Michael Story, a one-of-a kind party package and fireworks show, and much more.

“It’s important that everyone knows these funds are directly helping to save lives in our community,” said event chair Suzanne Pucci. “Early detection is key, which is why the funds generated from this event are so important.”

The funds raised will help support patients from their diagnosis through their transition to survivorship. Funding will directly benefit Foundation programs that provide transportation to and from appointments and radiation and infusion treatments, emergency assistance which helps meet basic needs for cancer patients, and cancer support groups which provide strength, hope and peer support. Funds raised will also help with more significant purchases throughout the year including bariatric infusion chairs, a stereotactic breast biopsy system and additional 3-D mammography units in the hospital network.
