Media availability Monday, Nov. 14, concerning repair work planned For Interstate 77

Cayce, SC 11/10/2022 - The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a media availability at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, concerning repair work planned for Interstate 77 in Richland and Lexington counties during the spring of 2023.

The media availability will be held at the SCDOT Traffic Management Center, 1412 Shop Road, Columbia 29201. The media will receive an informal preview of the project, with opportunities to ask questions and shoot video of the Traffic Management Center.

In the spring of 2023, SCDOT plans to rehabilitate 14 bridge decks on I-77 from I-26 to Bluff Road. Eight northbound bridges and six southbound bridges will be rehabilitated. Specific dates for the work have not been determined.

In addition, on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, SCDOT will hold a public information meeting regarding the I-77 bridge deck rehabilitation project. The meeting will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center at Otarre Pointe, 1120 Fort Congaree Trail, Cayce, SC 29033. The meeting will have a drop-in type format with displays for viewing, and citizens will have the opportunity to provide written comments.
