Edmund, SC – 05/02/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A mobile home was destroyed by fire between Edmund and South Congaree early Sunday morning. The fire was reported about 6:00 a.m. in the 100 block of Norman Drive off Edmund Highway.
First due fire engines had a difficult time accessing the fully involved singlewide because of the condition of the home’s drive. Firefighters had to stretch hoses to the fire in order to begin pouring water on it. They also had to use tanker trucks to supply the water needed to fight the blaze.
At 7:00 a.m., crews were still on the scene watering down the remains of the home. It’s much too early to say if anyone was displaced by the fire. There are no indications that anyone was hurt by the fire. It is also too early to say what started the fire.
