Lexington, SC 01/29/2024 (Paul Kirby) – Trooper Brittany Glover of the SC Highway Patrol has provided details of a fatal motorcyclist collision that occurred on Friday, January 26, 2024. According to Glover, the collision involved a single motorcyclist that was travelling west on I-20 near the 64 mile-marker.
Glover said that the motorcyclist was travelling west on I-20 when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail The rider died on scene as a result of the injuries sustained.
Coroner Fisher has since identified the rider as Patrick Riley Prewitt, 21, of Lexington. Fisher said that Prewitt was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
This collision is still under investigation by the SCHP and Coroner Fisher’s Office.
