Motorcyclist killed after crash in Lexington County on July 4th

Irmo, SC 07/07/2025 (Paul Kirby) – A motorcyclist is dead after crashing his bike near the town of Irmo on Friday, July 4, 2025, according to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the SC Highway Patrol. Ridgeway said that this was a single vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 11:35 a.m. The collision happened on White Falls Road off White Falls Circle just outside of the Town of Irmo.

According to Ridgeway, the rider of the motorcycle was travelling on White Fall Road when he lost control of the bike, struck a brick mailbox, and was thrown back into the road. The operator died on scene as a result of his injuries.

 

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Jakob Skipper, 27, of Columbia, SC was killed in the collision. Her office and the SCHP are still investigating this collision.
