New Principal Announced For Wood Elementary For 2026-2027 School Year

West Columbia, SC 03/21/2026 – At its March 19 meeting, the Lexington School District Two Board of Trustees announced Andrew Price as the new principal at Wood Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.
The board approved the hiring at its March 19 meeting on recommendation of Interim Superintendent Dr. Angela Cooper.
Price has served as an assistant principal at Wood for the past four years. He started his education career in 2014 with Lexington Two as a PE teacher at the former Brookland Cayce Grammar School No. 1, later Riverbank Elementary. Price has led with a deep commitment to students, staff, and school improvement, including being named Teacher of the Year twice, mentoring induction teachers, leading PBIS efforts, and contributing as a team leader, cohort facilitator, School Improvement Council representative, Standards-Based Grading Committee member, as well as District Physical Education Liaison. At Wood Elementary, he serves as both an instructional and operational leader, helping guide schoolwide efforts to improve attendance and strengthen discipline systems to create a safe and positive learning environment. He works closely with grade-level teams to support strong planning practices that promote high-quality instruction and student growth. Price holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
He will begin his new role on July 1.
