NLC President and Lexington Town Councilmember attends Infrastructure Bill Signing

Lexington, SC 11/17/2021 On Monday of this week, Town of Lexington Councilmember Kathy Maness in her role as President of the National League of Cities, attended President Joe Biden’s signing of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill. The signing was held at 3:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C.

Maness is currently serving a one-year term as President of the NLC, which is an advocacy organization for 19,000 cities, towns and villages in the United States. Maness is the first NLC President from the state of South Carolina.

Maness has served on Town Council since 2004 and has been an active member of NLC since then, including serving as president of the Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) constituency group.

Councilmember Maness has also served in other roles including NLC’s Council on Youth, Education and Families, the Board Finance and Audit Committees and the Board of Directors.
