Odyssey Online Learning names new executive director
Chapin, SC 04/03/2021 - The Board of Directors at Odyssey Online Learning is pleased to announce Ashley Owings as the school's new Executive Director. Owings has served as the school’s Interim Director since July and will immediately move into the job permanently. She brings more than a dozen years of educational experience to the position.

Odyssey worked with the Public Charter School Alliance of SC in vetting over 70 high-quality candidates from across the country for the position. "Ashley is a positive and energetic leader that possesses the qualifications and expertise needed to lead Odyssey Online Learning into a successful, differentiated charter school option in the state of South Carolina,” said Board of Directors Chairwoman Tracey Stuckey. Her warmth and collaborative spirit, in addition to her passion for meeting the needs of our students, assure us that OOL will be well-positioned under her guidance to create a lasting impact on those we serve for years to come."
Owings's experience includes serving as a general education teacher, special education teacher, and high school principal. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Anderson University, a Master of Arts degree in Education from Southern Wesleyan University, a Master of Education degree in Multi Categorical Disabilities from Converse College, and certification in Administration from Lamar University.
