Old Sandy Run Road and Pine Plain Road Vehicle Fatality

Lexington, SC - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a single-vehicle

collision at the intersection of Old Sandy Run Road and Pine Plain Road in the Swansea area of Lexington

County at approximately 2:30 P.M. on November 16, 2023.

 According to Coroner Fisher, Ms. Elfriede Kreutzer Martin, 87, of Columbia was traveling southbound on

Old Sandy Run Road when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. Ms. Martin, who was wearing a

seatbelt, was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead due to her injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate

the incident.
