One arrested after Fathers’ Day shooting closes Railroad Avenue in Lexington Sunday morning

Lexington, SC 06/20/2022 (Paul Kirby) – A resident of the Summer Cove apartment complex has been arrested following a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. Summer Cove is located on Railroad Avenue and that road was closed for a period while police began unravelling the details of what they called an active incident.

Police asked the residents of the complex to shelter in place while they investigated the scene, interviewed witnesses, and got the situation under control. According to investigators, the suspect shot a vehicle four times at about 4:00 a.m. No one was reported injured as a result of the shooting.

By 9:11 a.m., investigators believed they had enough evidence to arrest a suspect they have yet to identify. They have not released any motive behind this incident.
