One charged with possession of stolen vehicle and multiple drug offenses by Gaston Police Department

Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) 11/30/20 - Officers with the town of Gaston Police Department arrested one person Saturday morning after pulling over a stolen vehicle. The person in that vehicle was eventually charged with multiple serious offences.

According to a spokesman for the Gaston Police Department, officers were on patrol around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning in the 5200 block of Hwy. 321 S in Gaston. An officer ran the tag of a vehicle in front of him on his in-car computer. When the registration information was returned through NCIC, the plate did not match the make and model of the vehicle it was displayed on. At that point, the officer initiated a traffic stop.

After the truck stopped, the Gaston officer Investigated further. He discovered that the pickup truck had been reported stolen out of Berkeley County, SC. The officer also found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The driver of the truck, Eric Browder, was placed under arrest and transported to the Lexington County Detention Center. He was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle with a value greater than $10,000, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has since bonded out.
