Cayce, SC 06/27/2022 (Paul Kirby) – One person has died following a two-vehicle collision on Old Dunbar Road near Burroughs Avenue near the UPS Customer Care Facility early Sunday morning. According to Lance Corporal Tyler Tidwell of the SC Highway Patrol, this collision occurred at approximately 6:57 a.m. on June 26, 2022.
Tidwell released a statement in which he said that a Peterbilt tractor trailer was travelling east on Old Dunbar Road toward Charleston Highway with 2 people on its cab. A Chevrolet Malibu was also going east on Old Dunbar with 2 people in it. At some point, the Chevrolet struck the back of the tractor trailer truck. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the trauma center at Prisma Health Richland. The passenger of that car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the tractor trailer truck were not injured in the crash.
This collision remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
