One dead following vehicle versus pedestrian collision on I-20 Tuesday night

Samaria, SC 03/23/2022 (Paul Kirby) – A pedestrian has died after that individual was struck by a car as they walked along I-20 in western Lexington County. According to Master Trooper David Jones of the SCHP, this collision occurred on I-20 west at around the 39 mile-marker at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

According to Master Trooper Jones, the pedestrian was walking on I-20 when a 2004 Honda Accord travelling west struck the pedestrian. That person died at the scene as a result of their injuries. The driver of the Honda was unhurt in the collision.


The collision is under the investigation by the SCHP. Coroner Margaret Fisher will not release the name of the decedent until their next of king has been notified.
