Oak Grove, SC – 04/25/2021 (Paul Kirby) – One person has died on Lexington County’s roads this weekend. According to Master Trooper David Jones of the SCHP, the driver of a vehicle was killed in the Oak Grove area of the county Saturday night.
Jones said that the collision occurred on Augusta Road near Kitti Wake Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021. He said that a woman was driving an Acura south when the driver of a Buick pulled out of a private drive into the woman’s path. The Acura struck the Buick in the driver’s door causing the fatal injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision. The driver of the Acura was transported to a local medica facility for treatment of injuries she received in the crash.
The deceased driver’s name will be released at a later time by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office. This will take place only after Coroner Fisher has made all notifications to the decedent’s next of kin.
This collision is under investigation by the SCHP.
