One dead one seriously inured in early morning collision near Fairview

Fairview, SC 01/25/2022 (Paul Kirby) – One person has died, and another was seriously injured in a early morning collision on Wagner Highway near Fairview. According to Master Trooper David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol, this collision occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Trooper Jones said that two people were riding in a Ford Ranger pickup heading toward Fairview Crossroad when the driver dropped off the left shoulder of the road. The truck then hit a tree coming to a stop. The passenger of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a local medical center with serious injuries.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher’s office will be responsible for releasing the name of the deceased once her staff have made the proper notifications. This collision remains under investigation by the SCHP and their M.A.I.T. team.
