Leesville, SC 12/09/2024 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the young man who died in a single-vehicle accident in the 1100 block of Summerland Avenue in the Leesville area early Saturday morning. According to Fisher, Mason Leffel Reusch-Fulmer, 21, of Lexington was pronounced dead at the scene because of injuries he received in the crash.

Fisher said that Reusch-Fulmer was driving southbound on Summerland Avenue when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. No one has said exactly what made him lose control of the vehicle before driving off the road.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
