One killed in Lexington County wreck on Hwy. 378 Tuesday evening

Hollow Creek, SC - 01/27/2021 (Paul Kirby) - One person was killed in a vehicle accident on US highway 378 near Shorty Rd. Tuesday evening. According to Master Trooper David Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the other vehicle was transported to a local medical facility by Lexington County EMS after the collision. That person’s condition has not been released.

According to Master Trooper Jones, at about 6:30 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, a Dodge van was traveling west toward Saluda on US Highway 378 near Shorty Road in the Twin Bridges area of the county. Near that intersection, a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette turned left out of a private driveway onto Hwy. 378 to travel east toward the Town of Lexington. The driver of the Corvette turned into the path of the oncoming van, was struck on the driver’s side, and the operator of that vehicle was killed.


The Lexington County coroner's office will be responsible for releasing the name of the decedent. They will do so after they have made all of the proper family notifications.
