One killed in single-vehicle collision in Fairview

Fairview, SC - 04/05/2021 (Paul Kirby) – One man was killed early Monday morning in a single-vehicle collision in the Fairview area of Lexington County. According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, the collision occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021.
Fisher said that Allen M. Johnson, 53, of Leesville was at the intersection of Pine Grove Road and Fairview Road when he disregarded the stop sign at Fairview Road. His vehicle went down an embankment and then collided with a fence and a tree.
Johnson was transported from the scene by Lexington County EMS but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries a short while later and died at the hospital. Coroner Fisher said that Johnson was wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
