Boiling Springs, SC 10/01/2024 (Paul Kirby) -The SC Highway Patrol (SCHP) said Tuesday afternoon that a woman has died following a motor vehicle collision near the Boiling Springs community Tuesday morning. According to Master Trooper William Bennett, the crash happened just after 7:30 a.m. at the Intersection of Longview and Boiling Springs Road.
Bennett said that a Chevy pickup was travelling north on Boiling Springs Road when a Chevy sedan was coming down Longview Road toward the stop sign. Both vehicles collided at the intersection and went off the road and into opposite ditches. The driver of the truck was the sole occupant and was transported by Lexington EMS to a local hospital with what is being described as non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the sedan was also alone and died at the scene from her injuries.

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Nita Lynn Regino, 52, of Lexington died at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision. Fisher said that Regino was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Lexington County Coroner’s office and the SC Highway Patrol continue to investigate this deadly collision.
