One man has died following a single-vehicle collision on Founders Road Wednesday evening

Lexington, SC 05/01/2025 (Paul Kirby) - One man has died following a single-vehicle collision on Founders Road in the Boiling Springs / Edmund area of Lexington County Wednesday evening. According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, this occurred in the 600 block of Founders Road on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

According to Coroner Fisher, James Michael “Mike” Carter, 46, of Lexington was the passenger in a vehicle traveling east on Founders Road when the driver of the vehicle dropped off the right side of the roadway, lost control and hit several trees. Carter was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol's MAIT Team, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
