Pine Ridge, SC - 02/17/2021 – (Paul Kirby) – A serious vehicle collision sent at least one patient to the Trauma Center at Prisma Health’s Palmetto Richland campus early Wednesday morning. The SC Highway Patrol showed the accident occurred at about 3:00 a.m. on Pine Ridge Drive near Harrison Circle. This is close to the Charleston Highway end of Pine Ridge Drive.
Lexington County EMS, the fire service, and law enforcement officers responded to the call for assistance after the collision. Fire crews had to extricate a person from the tangled vehicle before they could be transported by ground to the hospital.
The SCHP is in charge of the investigation. They have not released any information regarding the collision. The patient’s condition and name are not available and will not be released due to privacy concerns and laws unless the patient or his/her designee authorizes that.
