Pedestrian crossing Augusta Road near I-26 struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday

Lexington, SC 04/30/2025 – Wednesday afternoon, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher announced that 1 person had died in the 2800 block of Augusta Road near the I-26 interchange earlier Thursday, April 30, 2025. Coroner Fisher identified the man killed as Zackary Ryan Rose, 30, of Lexington.
Coroner Fisher said that Rose was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound toward Lexington while he was crossing Augusta Road on foot. He was pronounced dead on scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, was not injured, and has cooperated with law enforcement.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the West Columbia Police Department continue to investigate the incident.
