Pelion, SC 02/15/2022 (Paul Kirby) – The Pelion Branch Library is hosting a Community Blood Drive along with the American Red Cross this Friday, February 18, 2022. The drive is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m. The Pelion Branch Library is located at 206 Pine Street, Pelion, SC 29123.

Because of the pandemic, the American Red Cross is in desperate need of donations. Right now, blood supplies are at a 10-year low. The fact that you’ve had COVID-19, the vaccination for the virus, a COVID booster, the flu vaccine, or the flu itself will not prevent you from being able to give. The only time you should not attempt to give is if you are currently showing the signs and symptoms of either of these illnesses on the day of the drive. Donors will all receive a $10 Amazon e-gift card via email for doing their part.

In order to expedite your giving, go to www.redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code PelionGives. Please consider giving the gift of life by giving blood.
