Pelion, SC 05/06/2021 (Paul Kirby) - The Pelion High School Girls’ Softball Team had five girls win All-Region status during the 2020/2021 school year. According to Coach Larry Poole, this entire team played their hearts out this year even though all school sports were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The girls who made the All-Region Team were:
Lakyn Phillips, Sr., Pitcher
Katie Henri, Jr., SS
Courtney Allen, Jr., CF
Maggie Northcutt, Fr., Catcher
Lisa Marie Corley, 8th grade, 2B
Additionally, one Pelion player was named Player of the Year for the Region. Another teammate was the runner-up for that award.
Those players were:
Lakyn Phillips - Player of the Year.
Katie Henri - Runner-up Player of the Year.
Pelion’s Girls’ Softball Team Coach Larry Poole was selected as the All-Region Coach of the Year.
