Lexington County, SC 01/17/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A Pelion man was arrested last week after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle at a retail establishment in the Batesburg-Leesville area. 28-year-old Jeffrey Adam Flowers was arrested on Thursday, January 4th, 2021 and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center where he was being held without bond.
Apparently, Flowers was in possession of a stolen vehicle when he was spotted by law enforcement officers in the parking lot of a business. Flowers had already been on electronic monitoring for a previous crime but had removed or destroyed that electronic monitoring device before this incident occurred. When he realized that law enforcement had recognized him and identified the vehicle, he tried to make an escape which damaged personal property and threatened the lives and well-being of some of the officers involved.
When taken into custody Flowers was charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, burglary of a nonviolent nature, malicious injury to personal property between $2000 and $10,000 in value, resisting arrest and/or assault on a law enforcement officer/s, and possession of a stolen vehicle he was attempting to conceal sell or dispose of said stolen vehicle. Flowers already has an extensive criminal record much of which is related to substance abuse.
As of Sunday, January 17, 2021 Flower was still being held at the county jail.
