Pelion Police Department searching for information on suspect who stole copper wire from farm field

Pelion, SC 03/12/2024 (Paul Kirby) – Officers with the Pelion Police Department are trying to identify a suspect that they believe stole copper wire off a pivot irrigator farm watering system at the intersection of Old Charleston and Pelion Road. According to investigators, the thief stole 130’ of 6-gauge wire from the system making it inoperable. They believe this occurred between March 5th and March 7th of this year.



Police say they have processed the scene for fingerprints and DNA. They have also identified a vehicle they believe was used in this crime. It is a red Chevy Avalanche with a loud muffler and a sticker on the back window that reads "Hell Raiser". The vehicle was last seen on Old Charleston Road heading toward Canal Drive.
