Pelion resident killed in Lexington collision on Tuesday morning

Lexington, SC 04/02/2025 - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a two-vehicle accident in the 5000 block of Sunset Blvd in the Town of Lexington on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mrs. Margie Hayden Cook , 70, of Pelion was pulling out of a parking lot when she was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on Sunset Blvd. Cook, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Town of Lexington Police Department continue to investigate the incident.
