Pine Ridge citizen have elected Daniel Davis their mayor

Pine Ridge, SC 06/17/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Pine Ridge has elected a new mayor in the tightest race most can remember. Thursday morning a recount was done, and the results were certified. In the end, Daniel Davis won by one vote.

The official tally showed Davis with 105 votes cast. His opponent, Kevin Nation received 104 votes. There was one write-in vote.

Davis will be sworn in as soon as possible. He will serve out the term of former Mayor Robert Wells which will end in November of this year. Davis will need to run again at that point and receive the highest number of votes if he wishes to retain the job.
