Pleasurecraft Engine Group hosting BBQ for first responders next Friday

Little Mountain, SC 07/16/2021 (Paul Kirby) - Pleasurecraft Engine Group, a leading manufacturer of high-quality and hi-performance marine engines whose production plant is in Little Mountain, SC, is holding a free bar-b-que to honor first responders. They have invited Lexington County first responders to join others from Pleasurecraft’s home county of Newberry and from Richland County to join them on this day that’s all about honoring selfless public servants.

The bar-b-que will be served for lunch on Friday, July 23, 2021, beginning at 12 noon. They will continue to serve until 2:00 p.m. that day. It is being held on the plant’s site at 1737 Hwy 76 east in Little Mountain, SC. All first responders including law enforcement officers from all departments, EMS personnel, and firefighters are welcome to come enjoy the food and fellowship at no cost.

In addition to local first responders, Pleasurecraft has extended an invitation to local elected officials and dignitaries who have worked hard over the past 18 months to supply first responders with the resources they needed to continue to function at a high level of service during the worldwide pandemic. O’Neil said that Lexington County Senator Katrina Shealy of Red Bank has already said she will be there, and the company is hoping that she will be joined by others on Friday.

In order to pull this all together, Pleasurecraft is partnering with two non-profits that are co-host for this event. They are:

· Operation Wakesurf out of Mooresville, NC (https://operationwakesurf.com/)

· Hungry Heroes out of Fort Mill, SC (https://www.hungryheroesbbq.com/)

According to John O’Neil, sales and marketing coordinator with Pleasurecraft, although they had set the RSVP cutoff date as July 9, 2021, the company planned and ordered extra food for any first responders who were not able to preregister. O’Neil said they would have, “plenty of food for anyone who comes and did not RSVP.”

O’Neil said in a recent release, “The purpose of this BBQ is to serve our local first responders who typically don’t get all of the recognition they deserve.” During the gather, Pleasurecraft will also be presenting the two affiliated non-profits with a donation.
