Pond Branch Road Vehicle Fatality

Leesville, SC 10/18/2023 - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a single-vehicle collision in the 2500 block of Pond Branch Road in the Leesville area of Lexington County at approximately 5:49 P.M. on October 17, 2023.
According to Coroner Fisher, Ms. Jessica Lee Burch, 36, of Leesville was traveling eastbound on Pond Branch Road when a vehicle attempted to turn westbound onto Pond Branch Road from Bethlehem Circle causing Ms. Burch to leave the roadway, striking a tree. Ms. Burch, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained. A passenger in the vehicle, who was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was not injured. The driver of the other vehicle involved did not stop at the scene.
South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
