River Bluff High School Announces Exciting Coaching Changes for Women's Lacrosse Program

Lexington, South Carolina - June 9, 2023 - River Bluff High School is delighted to introduce Head Coach Shannon Aikens as the newest addition to their women's lacrosse program. Coach Aikens will bring her extensive experience and passion for the game to the team, starting in July. Her impressive background as both a player and coach makes her an exceptional asset to the program.

Coach Aikens' lacrosse journey began at a young age, and she quickly developed a deep love for the game. As a standout player at Mercy High School, she played midfield before showcasing her skills as an attack/midfielder for the prestigious Skywalkers club program. Her collegiate career took her to Loyola University in Maryland, where she excelled as an attack player.

With over 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Aikens has been actively involved in the lacrosse community. She had the privilege of learning from renowned head coach Jen Adams during her college years and served as an assistant coach at the PRIDE lacrosse club. At Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA, Coach Aikens led the offense to victory in both the District and State Championships in 2022.

Coach Aikens' coaching style emphasizes positivity, player development, and motivation. She is excited to share her infectious love for the game with her players and enhance their skills and strategic understanding of lacrosse.

River Bluff High School is also pleased to welcome Courtney Dove, a former collegiate lacrosse player at Reinhardt University, as a social studies teacher and assistant coach for the women's lacrosse team. With six years of coaching experience, including coaching at Dutch Fork High School and Lake Murray Lacrosse Club, Courtney brings a profound understanding of the game and a dedication to her players' growth and success.

Additionally, Morgan Logue will continue to lead the River Bluff Women's Lacrosse team as an assistant coach for the upcoming season. Coach Logue's extensive playing career at Lynchburg College, combined with her coaching experience at various institutions and lacrosse clubs, has been instrumental in the team's success.

River Bluff High School is confident that these coaching changes will inspire and elevate the women's lacrosse program to new heights. The school invites parents, players, and the community to warmly welcome Coach Shannon Aikens, Courtney Dove, and Coach Morgan Logue as they embark on an exciting new chapter together.
