Scouting Extravaganza coming to Lexington Sunday May 23rd

Lexington, SC (05/10/2021 Paul Kirby) – A Scouting Extravaganza is coming to Lexington on Sunday May 23rd, 2021. It is being planned by the Indian Waters Council (BSA) and will take place at the Icehouse Amphitheater at 107 West Main Street in downtown Lexington.


According to the Council, this will be an outdoor celebration of Scouting programs, its volunteers, and special achievements made by Scouting in the Midlands of South Carolina. With a new format and in an outdoor venue, the Indian Waters Council will also recognize their amazing volunteers and Eagle Scouts. They will also highlight the activities and camps that will put the "outing" back in Scouting over the next year.

Listed below are some of the exhibits, fun, and fellowship that will be taking place. The exhibits and fellowship begin at 4:00 p.m. and the honors will be bestowed beginning at 5:30 p.m.


Exhibits:


· National Eagle Scout Association & BSA Alumni Booth

· A very large gorilla promoting National Youth Leader Training this summer!

· Sno Cone machine dishing-out free sno cones

· Pinewood Derby (Council winners recognized)

· Haunted Forest Weekend Exhibit

· Golf game promoting our council golf tournament!

· Exhibits about summertime adventures at Camp Barstow!

· A popcorn machine popping free popcorn

· Cub Scout Day & Twilight Camps and Cub Scout Resident Camp Information

· Muscogee Lodge Order of the Arrow
