Cayce, SC 09/20/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Several units of the old Knight’s Inn were destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning in a 2nd alarm blaze. The now closed business is located at 1987 Airport Boulevard in the City of Cayce.

According to Ashley Hunter, spokesperson for the Cayce, the original call regarding the fire came in at approximately 2:15 am on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. When the first crews arrived on the scene, they found fire coming from the roof of 2 units. Additional units and personnel from the West Columbia Fire Department and Lexington County assisted and at one point, a 2nd alarm was transmitted. This brought more resources from surrounding departments. According to Hunter, the combined crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire.

Once the fire was under control, an extensive overhaul began. Shortly after 6:00 am, crews were in clean-up mode preparing to leave the scene. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
