Sharpe’s Hill, SC – 02/22/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Another shed has burned during the cold weather Lexington County has experienced over the past few weeks. This one was reported to be on fire near Meadowfield and Sharpe’s Hill Roads just north of the Town of Gaston. The fire was reported around 2:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021.
Firefighters were dispatched to the fire after someone called the 911 Center to say they had been awakened by an explosion. They went outside to see what made the noise and a nearby shed was fully engulfed in fire.
Firefighters from Lexington County arrived quickly. Within a very short time they had brought the fire under control.
A senior fire official asked that the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department have a deputy respond to take a report on this fire. As of this writing, no cause of the fire has been reported.
