Sheriff’s department investigating after two found dead near Gaston early Monday

Gaston, SC 11/15/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Detectives are in the early stages of an investigating into a shooting that left two people dead Monday morning. According to a spokesman for the department, they received a 911 call about 9:15 a.m. Monday from the 200 block of Woodcoat Drive near Gaston regarding shots fired. Deputies, EMTs, and firefighters from Lexington County all responded but when they arrived, they found two people dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

The spokesman for Sheriff Koon has said this appears to have been an isolated incident and they don’t believe there’s any immediate danger to the community. He also said that investigators and crime scene technicians were on the scene most of the day gathering evidence. interviewing witnesses, and following leads at this point. As of Monday afternoon, they have not said whether any arrest has been made.
