Lexington, SC 06/08/2017 - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher is releasing the identity of a woman who was shot and killed on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. This happened shortly after 2:00 p.m. yesterday. This happened in the 600 block of Pine Grove Road close to the Gilbert and Leesville area of Lexington County.
According to Coroner Fisher, Emily Renee Zeigler, 55, of Leesville, was found dead inside her residence by her daughter according to her daughter. Zeigler was pronounced dead on scene due to a gunshot wound to her upper body. An acquaintance of Zeigler’s was also shot and transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department along with the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate this incident.
