Shooting in Cayce leaves one dead, investigators on the scene

Cayce, SC 06/14/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Investigators with the Cayce Department of Public Safety are on the scene of a shooting in the city that left one dead overnight. First Sergeant Evan Antley, spokesman for the department, said early Monday morning that the department responded to the call at approximately 3:40 a.m. on June 14th. They had received a 911 call regarding an unconscious male in a vehicle on Groover Circle.

Within minutes of receiving the call, officers arrived on the scene to find a male who had been shot at least once. The man was confirmed to be deceased.


Investigators are currently being assisted by personnel form the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office. This investigation is in its earliest phases and more information will be released when it is appropriate to do so.
