Shooting victim recovering after being wounded at social gathering near Swansea last weekend

Swansea, SC – 03/24/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A victim is recovering from a gunshot wound in the upper body he received last weekend, according to a spokesman for Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. Captain Adam Myrick said the victim’s medical team is telling deputies that the injury is not life-threatening.

According to Captain Myrick, the shooting happened the 100 block of Alpine Road near Swansea. Apparently, there was a large social gathering going on when shots rang out. One person was transported after being struck by a round.


Myrick said that investigators have taken witness statements regarding the incident and collected potential evidence. At this point, no arrests have been made.


Their work on the case continues.
