South Congaree Police Department ask the community for help in solving what is fast becoming a cold case

South Congaree, SC 11/25/2022 (Paul Kirby) – The South Congaree Police Department is asking the community for their assistance in a shoplifting case that is in jeopardy of becoming cold. According to the department, this crime happened on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.


According to police, 2 unknown African American females entered the Food Lion located at 675 Main Street in the Town of South Congaree acting as if they were paying customers. The first suspect is in her younger to mid-20's with light colored hair wrapped in a bun. She was wearing a grey headband and had a large number of tattoos on her right thigh. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a white tank top, blue jean shorts and was carrying a large black purse.

The second individual is described as an older African American female in her mid-40's. She has waist-length brown hair and was wearing a red long sleeve shirt with light pants.


The pair eventually left the store with $192 worth of unpaid merchandise. Cameras show they fled the business in a white 2014 Nissan Altima.
