Stanley set to lead Lexington One’s new South Lake Elementary School

LEXINGTON, S.C. — At the October 24 board meeting, the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Jennifer A. Stanley as the principal of the district’s newest elementary school, South Lake Elementary, effective July 1, 2024.


An enthusiastic leader and educator with more than 24 years of experience, Stanley currently serves as the principal at Lake Murray Elementary School and will lead South Lake Elementary, which is currently under construction, when the school opens in August 2024.





Stanley began her career in education as a teaching assistant at Saxe Gotha Elementary School for a year, where she remained as a fourth-grade teacher until 1999 when she moved to Red Bank Elementary School. After four years as a second-grade teacher at RBES, Stanley was promoted to the position of assistant principal at Gilbert Elementary School in 2002. After serving at GES, she moved to Oak Grove Elementary in 2007 as an assistant principal.


Stanley was promoted to principal of Lake Murray Elementary School in 2016. During her time at LMES, the school was named a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School and a 2023 South Carolina Palmetto’s Finest.


Stanley earned her Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Presbyterian College and a Master of Arts in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
