Still Standing to hold women’s health empowerment luncheon at Lexington Town Hall

Lexington, SC 09/24/2024 - Still Standing, a women’s health empowerment luncheon, will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Lexington Municipal Conference Center, 111 Maiden

Lane, Lexington, SC 29072.

This year’s keynote speaker is Naida Rutherford, Richland County Coroner. Along with panelists Dr. Delores Dacosta (SC Commission for Minority Affairs), Ashley Olayinka (CEO, The Hive Community Circle), and Stephanie Jacobs (Victim Advocate), we will highlight a known killer in our community: Domestic Violence. Our theme is Face the Facts: Domestic Violence Is Beyond Skin Deep.

In past years, Still Standing has served as a platform to increase women’s awareness of health challenges such as Breast Cancer, HIV/AIDS, and Mental Health. This luncheon, along with our famous shoe strut, equips women with the knowledge and resources they need to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. A portion of proceeds will benefit Coroners Campus, dedicated to promoting awareness of forensic science.

Guests will enjoy free parking and a rich color palette in the spacious atrium with panoramic views of beautiful Virginia Hylton Park at the Lexington Municipal Conference Center. The luncheon concludes with the anticipation of the “Shoe Strut” competition, which encourages women to “stand taller, feel stronger, and walk longer.”

The Ivy Heritage Foundation of Irmo, Inc. will host the event. For more information, please contact publicrelations@ivyheritageofirmo.org.
