Edmund, SC (Paul Kirby) 12/01/2020 - A man who is suspected of shooting into a home in the Edmund area of the county in November has been arrested and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center. He was taken into custody on November 30, 2020.
David Michael Hoover, 41, is believed to be the person involved in the early morning shooting on November 14, 2020. Hoover is suspected of discharging a firearm into a home in the 500 block of Pleasant View Drive sometime around 4:00 a.m. before fleeing the scene in a pickup truck.
Lexington County deputies quickly arrived on the scene and were joined by investigators a short time later. They quickly identified a suspect and asked other law enforcement agencies around Lexington County to be on the lookout for the truck and its driver. At the time, it was believed that Hoover was known by someone who was inside the house at the time the incident occurred.
Hoover has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, discharging a weapon into a dwelling, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and petty larceny with a value of less than $2000. A judge has set a bond of $10,500 on three of the crimes; however, Hoover is still being held after bond was denied on the two counts of attempted murder.
