The 2022 Sole Stepping campaign is already getting underway

White Knoll, SC 02/17/2022 (Paul Kirby) – The 2022 Sole Stepping campaign is getting underway. Sole Stepping is all about shoes and socks for children. Parents know that once a child begins to wear shoes, buying new ones is a common and frequently burdensome expense. From toddlers to teens, it often seems as if children outgrow their shoes once a month. When you’re already living paycheck to paycheck, deciding to buy shoes for your child may be thrown in the mix with buying groceries for the table, paying the light bill, or even paying for that medication a family member needs. It can be that challenging for many who work blue collar jobs or have large families.

Sole Stepping is a program that matches a child with a sponsors. The sponsor could be an individual, a community group, a church, a business, or just about anyone that’s willing to help. There are even some organizations that provide grants for larger groups of children. Once a sponsor is identified, they provide new sneakers, athletic socks, or sometimes monetary donations through Sole Stepping. All shoe sizes are accepted as Sole Stepping works with sponsored children from age 3 through 12.

The shoes are distributed in December at a child’s school. The amazing thing is every child in that school gets a pair of shoes. That way, no child ever knows whose family is struggling with these types of expenses and who’s family is not. If a need arises for shoes throughout the school year, Sole Stepping can also intervene and provide those too.

Why is this so important in February one might ask. Well, to do the volume of shoes Sole Stepping does each year, they need to raise funds all year long. One local effort begins in just a few weeks.

On Saturday, March 5, 2022, Radius Church White Knoll, located at 5181 Platt Springs Road in Red Bank, will kick off a Sole Stepping campaign with its March Into Spring Market event!
