Lexington, SC 02/02/2021 - This week, The Courage Center begin offering FREE counseling services on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings. These clinical counseling services are being provided by Licensed Professional Counselor Associate Miles Johnson.
Miles has spent his life personally and professionally making positive impacts on others, especially young people. He received his B.S. in Psychology from Wofford College and earned his Masters in Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
Miles has more than 25 years' experience working with teens and young adults, as well as experience with persons with disabilities and special needs and their caregivers. He has worked with clients who suffer from trauma, anxiety, anger, lack of coping skills, behavioral issues, and ADHD.
"I tailor my approach to therapy for the individual client, drawing from many different therapeutic disciplines," Miles explained. "I am most comfortable with REBT/CPT, but I sometimes use some Psychodynamic, and Gestalt techniques; whatever works best to help the client make a positive change in their life.” Miles has lived and traveled extensively all over the U.S. and Europe, and loves working with people from diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds. He enjoys reading, cooking, and camping with his wife and children in his spare time, and music is also a huge part of his family's life.
