Irmo, SC 01/10/2023 – Do you need to make room for all those new books you received for Christmas on your shelves? Perhaps you got a book or two you already have, or they just aren’t your style. The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library, located at the library at 6251 St. Andrews Road, will gladly accept your donations of used books and media on Saturday, January 14th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A second Donation Day will be held from 3-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 26.
The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library have planned regular Donation Days throughout 2023 on the second Saturday and the fourth Thursday of each month. There will be no donation days in November and December. They do ask that you do not drop off donations at any other time than the designated donation days. On donation days, books may be dropped off curbside at the side entrance to the library. Again, this is located at 6251 St. Andrews Road, where Friends volunteers will assist in unloading. You may also bring books inside to the library’s Mungo Room.
Donations of books and media supply both the Friends Book Store inside the library and during their twice-yearly Friends Book Sale. Their Spring Book Sale is scheduled for April 27-30.
A non-profit, volunteer organization, the Friends support, promote and help fund the Irmo Branch Library. For more information email the Friends at friends.irmobranchlibrary@gmail.com.
The library does not accept VHS tapes, magazines/journals, encyclopedias, old textbooks, travel books more than 3 years old, Readers Digest condensed books, or moldy, damaged or ripped books.
