Lexington, SC (06/09/2021 Paul Kirby) – Some of you may have noticed that libraries are changing constantly. At the Lexington County Public Library, they want to hear what resources you want and need so they can better serve our community and plan for even more changes for the future.
Over the last year, the LCPL has launched many new services in an effort to continue to reach patrons, especially during the early days of the pandemic. As the world grappled with uncertain and ever-changing information, the library had to adapt just like everyone else.
Throughout last year, many innovative programs were utilized. There was the Ask a Librarian online chat, virtual programming for all ages, personalized reading recommendations, web forms, and self-checkout kiosks just to name a few. Even though times were tough, your libraries stayed right there making sure you had access to the information and services you needed.
As the library system plans for the future, they want your feedback to improve the resources and services offered. It’s easy for you to help. Just join one of their Community Conversations Circles and let them know how they can better serve you.
The Library System’s leaders would like to know:
1. What kind of events, classes, workshops or activities would you like to see at the library?
2. Are there materials or services you wish the library would offer?
3. Is there something you would like to see offered on the library’s website?
Don’t forget, it’s easy for you to help. All you do is attend one of their Community Conversation Circles or take their on-line survey. After these are completed, the staff will look at the input they’ve received and try and integrate some of your good ideas into their strategic planning for the future.
To find out more about either of these ways of having your say, check out this post on the Lexington County Public Library’s webpage by following this LINK. This page also has the Community Conversation Circles times and dates for your convenience.
