Lake Murray, SC 03/39/2023 - The Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board is in the final phase of its brick sales at the “Welcome to Lake Murray” destination landmark. This is located at the Lake Murray Dam at Highway 6 (North Lake Drive) and Highway 60 (Lake Murray Boulevard). Residents and visitors are invited to buy a brick and be a part of this historic project and leave a lasting legacy at Lake Murray.
"Your engraved brick will serve as a permanent and lasting memory in this community and the signage will help welcome the 1 million+ visitors that visit this region each year," said Miriam Atria, President & CEO of the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board (CCLMC).
It has taken countless years and significant effort by community stakeholders to bring the Lake Murray Destination Landmark to life. CCLMC is grateful to community partners: Dominion Energy, SCDOT, AOS Specialty Contractors, Magna Sign International, Everette Cashion, Stewart Mungo, and Chao and Associates for helping make the destination landmark project a reality. The CCLMC board thanked the South Carolina State dignitaries, community organizations, and all of the families that purchased bricks in support of the project at the ribbon cutting held, on November 3, 2022. This second phase of brick sales will bring the project that began so many years ago to a conclusion. Funds raised from brick sales support the maintenance and ensure the sustainability of the landmark.
Space and time are limited. This final phase of brick sales will close Friday, April 20, 2023, at midnight.
