White Knoll, SC 01/30/2023 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Sheriff’s Department detectives, and personnel from Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher’s office, are continuing to investigate a shooting that left two women and one man dead over the weekend. Their preliminary results of their investigation indicate that this was a double murder, suicide.
According to Coroner Fisher, deputies responded to the 2000 block of Bliss Lane in the Tanners Mill subdivision off McLee Road in the White Knoll area of Lexington County at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Once on scene, the first arriving law enforcement officers found two women that were dead with gunshot wounds. They also discovered one man in critical condition due to a gunshot wound to his head.
Investigators believe this all began as a domestic-related incident. Results of the preliminary investigation indicate that Mr. William Peter Busick, 55, of Lexington shot his wife, 48-year-old, Mrs. Chastity Lynne Buick, and his stepdaughter, 23-year-old, Jasmine Alyse Bailey multiple times. Investigators say that Mr. Busick then turned the gun on himself and fired a shot into his head. He was transported to an area hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are working together to finish up this investigation.
