Chapin, SC 08/14/2023 – The Town of Chapin will host their annual Labor Day weekend celebration, presented and sponsored by Lexington Medical Center, from Saturday, September 2nd through Monday, September 4th. This weekend features crowd-favorite events, such as the Justin Pepper 5k: Walk, Run, and Ruck, the Sunday night Boots on Beaufort concert, and the Parade and Festival taking place on the morning of Labor Day.
Preceding the weekend will be the return of Taste of Chapin, the annual restaurant week hosted in partnership with the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Chophouse of Chapin. The week runs from Saturday, August 26th through Saturday, September 2nd and offers the opportunity to try exclusive menu items and deals at your favorite Chapin culinary establishments. Saturday, September 2nd also sees the Justin Pepper 5k: Walk, Run, and Ruck take place at Crooked Creek Park (1098 Old
Lexington Hwy, Chapin, SC 29036) at 7:00am.
Saturday, September 2nd at 6:00pm on Beaufort Street will see Latin Night, a new addition to the Labor Day weekend festivities that features authentic Venezuelan food from Arepa Chef, a food drive benefiting Chapin We Care Center, salsa dancing, and Latin music. The following night on Sunday sees the return of Boots on Beaufort, a concert featuring the musical talents of Johnny Meetze, Griffin Schelble, and local favorites Spare Parts as well as local vendors on Beaufort Street.
On Monday, September 4th, the streets will close at 9:00am and Chapin’s Labor Day Parade, this year themed Chapin’s Treasures (pirates), will set sail at 9:30am. After the parade, head downtown for the Labor Day festival, featuring local vendors, food trucks, our children’s carnival area, a train museum presented by American Legion Post 193, a book sale taking place at Chapin Town Hall, and more live music from Marcus Gullen.
